This program was facilitated through Global First Year and the Global Learning Medallion program at FIU. It connects upperclassman FIU students with freshman international students to assist them with their transition to FIU.

During my time as a peer mentor, me and another peer mentor were connected with a student from Peru. We introduced her to the university and assisted her with any questions or concerns she had. We also continually communicate with each other and planned little virtual get togethers. One of our activities was a game night where we chatted through zoom and played some games online.

This experience was a great way to give back to other students and to have the ability to assist in someone's transition to college life.
